About us
The Indian Association of Music Therapy is dedicated to advancing the therapeutic applications of music across various domains, including neuroendocrine and cardiovascular disorders, psychological conditions, child development, rehabilitation, and special education. Our focus extends to addressing issues such as drug abuse, pain management, frequent headaches, depression, anxiety, and sleeplessness, and promoting holistic growth in community settings.

We aim to pioneer research in Biomusicology, an emerging field that integrates biology and music to enhance human well-being. Committed to the growth of the music therapy profession, we strive to elevate education, training, professional standards, certification, and research to new heights for the betterment of society.

Governing Bodies
The Indian Association of Music Therapy operates under the leadership of a Board of Directors and an Executive Body comprising trustees and elected members. The Board convenes annually and as needed, with a minimum notice period of 15 days. Policies are established by an Assembly of Delegates, which includes permanent members and invited representatives from key societal sectors and affiliated organisations.

Fellow of the Indian Association of Music Therapy (FIAMT)
The title of Fellow of the Indian Association of Music Therapy (FIAMT) is a prestigious honour awarded to scientists, researchers, and academicians who have shown exceptional dedication and passion for music therapy and Biomusicology. This lifetime title recognises individuals who have significantly contributed to advancing the discipline and supporting the music therapy community.

Terms & Conditions

• Membership is subject to availability and approval. You may fill out the application form below, to receive an email with further information. You will be asked to share a government-issued ID for verification.
• Approval of membership is dependent on various factors, decided by the trustees and agreed on by our board of directors.
• You will be shared a payment link through a secured portal to make the payment. Once the payment is made, no returns will be allowed. You may cancel the renewal of your membership, after the end of your tenure.
• For recurring memberships, any discounts at the time of purchasing, may or may not be applied during renewal. You will receive an email if there are any changes made to the base pricing structure.
• Students can avail of a 50% Discount towards eligible memberships. Though, they must verify their status as a student.
• In case of a Student Discount, any additional discounts being offered at the time will not be added to it. If eligible, you may only avail yourself of either the Student Discount or any other discount.
• Being unable to verify student status will require the remaining 50% to be paid to activate the membership.
• A Gold Pass is different from a Gold Membership. The pass holder’s access will only be active as long as their organisation’s membership.
• In the case of an organisation applying for a Professional Membership, a Gold pass can be generated. However, they must only be available to live & direct members/employees/executives of the organisation.
• Only individuals applying for professional membership can avail themselves of an executive pass.
• In the case of an Institutional Membership, up to 3 Gold passes can be generated. However, they must only be available to live members/employees/executives of the Institute. The passes are valid for as long as the membership is active.
• An Honorary Membership (within either category) may be awarded to an individual with achievements in the field of Music or Medicine, or others, as elected by the Board of Directors.
• Citizens of SAARC countries may avail (any membership they are eligible for) at prices equivalent to Indian Citizens.
• All payments under the “Foreign” category, will be made in US Dollars. Depending on PayPal’s compatibility, the value might be converted to your respective currency, at the time of payment.
• Membership tenure will be counted starting from your joining date, which will be when you receive a confirmation from us (including a Member ID).
• In case of a system-wide ID change, you will be notified via e-mail with your updated IDs.
• (currently under process, unavailable) All Members will receive a virtual ID card with their information, and Membership ID. Members who attend our offline seminars, workshops, or courses can avail of a physical ID card, on paid basis (free for Executive Members, or Members with memberships older than 2 years).
• (currently under process) We’re working on a login portal, where you will be able to access your membership details and add or remove attributes.
• For all the details above, we will only be able to reach you on the details you mention below, therefore make sure they’re correct.
• Any extra charges incurred during payments must be borne by the payer.
